"Boo-Yah"

Stuart Scott born July 19, 1965 Died January 4, 2015; he was 49 years old. Scott was   leaving his girlfriend and two daughters; Taelor and Sydni. Stuart Scott brought a lot of liveliness into the ESPN sports casting using phrases like "cooler than the other side of the pillow" and "Like gravy on a biscuit, its all good." You just don't hear things like that, not from Boomer or even Sarah Walsh. Scott put his on stamp on ESPN that no one can or will ever duplicate. He also touched the lives of many people like Jordan, Woods, Kobe, and LeBron  the list goes on and on. "'He was truly a trailblazer in his field and, by refusing to change his style, made himself into a star. I always enjoyed sitting down to talk to him. But to me he wasn't just a broadcaster, he was an old friend who I'd known since college. He fought so hard against  cancer and I hoped he'd win the battle. Booyah my Brother"'(Jordan). Stuart Scott had rare form of cancer in his appendix. The cancer was so rare that the American Cancer Society  is unable to  estimate on how often it happens and its  death ratee. The appendix is attached to the colon; it is classified as a type of colorectal cancer. Fewer than 1,000 people in the U.S. are diagnosed each year with this cancer. Scott fought for seven years, he was unsure of his outcome here and there. He never gave up his will to keep going was strong.. Through his sickness he continued to do the thing he does best on the network for ESPN broadcasting. He will be missed, and he will never fade from our minds rest in peace Stuart Scott!

Let the season begin

I am sad to see football end for this year but all be ready to show what I can do next year. For fall sports I have to draw all my attention to wrestling. I wrestled for the middle school last year under coach Colmen, but my season was cut short when I had serious ligament tears in my ankle. This year im ready to prove myself on the mat and I've deffinetly done that in practice. I was unable to wrestle in are first met of the season because I pulled my groin and seem to be repulling it in practice so I had to sit out and do the stats. Hopefully I'll be ready for are met on Wednesday. The team look very good winning all of are meets, and it feels good to be apart of a team that won states last year and I know we can do it again this with leaders we have and the knowledge of are coaches.

No bully zone

People think when they got hazed in high school, college, or even the NFL it was a right of passage. I can somewhat understand that the guys on my team like to mess with me once and a while, but they don't go over the limit. What's happening is kids and men just go over the limit, and bullying is extremely serious today hazing is a form of bullying and punishments are no joke. For example the Seahawks traded Percy Harvin to of all places the New York Jets. That trade didn't make much sense, but stuff stared coming out about their is a divide in the locker room and if star QB. Russel Wilson is "black enough". It was said Harvin was a bully in the locker room giving guys a hard time. In a result of that he's now on the Jets who have no chance of making the playoffs this year. Another example are the Miami Dolphins Richie Incognito and Jonathan Martin. Things got so bad between Incognito and Martian that Martian ended up leaving the Dolphins because he got bullied so bad. Incognito said he was just trying to push Martian to go hard, and that they would good friends. That didn't seem to be the case for both of talented players they are teamless. Incognito has a chance in the NFL the patriots showed interest but picked someone else up. For Martian who knows if he'll ever go back into an NFL locker room after what happen in Miami. Hazing is no joke just don't do it. If you think your helping someone out by hazing them your not their just as fine without im all for pushing your brothers on the field, but do it in a responsible way.

Too young to play?

I know first hand my mom was worried about me playing football when I was young. So she didn't let me play till now as I start my first year of high school. Even though coaches of youth football teams are teaching their players a safer way to tackle, and football company's are finding ways to minimize concussions is that really enough? "I'm a firm believer that there's no way that a 6-year-old should have a helmet on and learn a tackling drill." That was from the man John Madden himself. If John Madden who is very well known in football made that statement it really makes you sit, and wonder am I endangering my son or daughter by letting them play football at such a young age. The NFL has made a grant of 45 million dollars to the heads up program for coaches, parents, and the players. For a coach to get certified by the heads up program it takes an hour to an hour and a half. Mr. Madden does think an hour to teach a coach just doesn't cut it. Which makes a lot of sense it's a long process to get your drivers license. You don't get your permit then a week later your license comes in the mail. So if it's a process just to drive how is that any different. I play football and I love the sport. I do think that if your six years old their are alternatives rather than little kids running into each other. Flag football you don't get a flashy helmet but you get to play the game you love and the risks are at a minimum

Can't stay away from the game.

If you didn't know this about me I have been playing sports science I was four years old. He very first sport I have ever played was baseball. I started at T-ball and just worked my way up to babe Ruth. I was also that kid who  didn't like to play in the in field I have always loved to play the outfield even though the kids weren't strong enough to hit the ball my way, but that would change in years to come and I was ready. Come babe Ruth I was a lock down player you would have to hit the ball over the fence for me not to be able to catch the ball and get you out. Also I ran all over the outfield to catch balls no one would call it so it was fair game and I just made catches all game every game.

I have also ran track when I was younger, and im ready to make an impact this year running track. Also im wrestling for Norton this year I'll see how I do this year and see if want to help the cause next year coach Colemen is an awesome coach so he could really help me out this year. Sadly I am not play basketball this year, but next year if wrestling doesn't workout I'll be ready to get back on the court. As you know I am currently playing football and I am doing good and improving everyday and I looking forward to playing next year. I think sports are amazing and any kid out there should try to get into any kind of sport they want. Even if they don't think they are good enough to play a sport their are rec. leagues every where for them to join and the Y. does sports programs all the time.

THE CURSE IS OVER

We are on a win streak freshman 1 and 2 and JV 1 and 1. On Monday we had a perfect game we did everything right on JV, everyone was where they needed to be. Medfield had a good defense but are offense line was better. Also are defense could not be any better midfield was in scoring position at least eight times are defense stopped them every time all they way to 4th down they just could not get through the holes or go down field. I had a nice run up the middle for 8yrds. Also our other running back Joe Weber had a nice game as well.  Mikey are God, fullback had yet another great game.

WE WON OUR FIRST GAME ON FRESHMEN. The curse has been lifted we played a great game today against Medaway. We scored in the first half then we got a little run down, but coach Gomes lit the fire under us during half time, and we woke up and showed them who they were trying to mess with. I am happy to say I got my very first TD playing football. I ran 35 yards with two guys on my back. I scored the winning touchdown! Probably one of the best days of my life, but the bar is now set higher for all of us to do better, get more touchdowns, and be a lock down defense. We show some serious heart though because we have 17 guys total, other teams have 30 to 40 guys so just because were small doesn't mean we are push overs. An example of David vs. Goliath.

Freshmen Football

I would say the Norton Freshmen  Football team is ready for are game coming up and every game to come. We had a rocky start losing are first game to Middleboro 26 to 7, but we have learned from our mistakes. Everyday before practice the whole freshmen squad is out there on the field before the upperclassmen just going over plays making sure everyone knows what the are doing. I will say I also had a rocky start in my very first game carrying the ball once with a gain of maybe 8 to 10 yards, but that was it for me. I am ready to go though for are next game against Medfield. I have all the plays down I've worked on my blocks. I'd say were all just ready to get that W. Medfield does seem like they will be a good team to face as well we don't have any film on their freshmen team, but we just need to be ready to play are coaches have done everything they can do to prepare us for this game. That means running extra, going harder on scout O. and scout D. and really just don't give up on a play if you get beat in the end zone or you drop a pass just get back in the huddle, and wait for the next play to be called.

Well we lost the final score was 26 to 9. We could not get the fire lit in the first half. Three fumbles two by there starting running back which would be me, and also by the other wing back just not a good day in the back field. Defense seemed to do a good job we were down two by two TDS. we just couldn't get the job done I do take partial blame. We can't let this yet another loss bring us down though. I know we have it in are selves to win games i know this  first hand because I sweat and workout with them side by side everyday. We have a lot to work on, but
